Welcome to beautiful Eastbourne and 3 days of unique learning opportunities and experiences.

This course is designed for all those who wish to improve their written and spoken English.

It is aimed at giving attendees a greater understanding of English for their professional development.

The venue for the seminar is The Hydro Hotel boasting panorama views of the English Channel and a short walk from the town centre.

Training Methodology

This course will be trainer led and will use examples from authentic material.

Seminar lecturer and Guest Speaker

Marilyn Benzing

Marilyn Benzing is currently working at NTNU as Course Coordinator of Business and Management English and has over 25 years of experience in Business and Legal English.

Marilyn was the Principal of a language school in Cambridge for more than ten years and then a Director and Senior Tutor for a Professional Training Company based in Cambridge.

Her clients have included PWC, KPMG, Shell, British Gas, Aramaco and RasGas.

In Norway and the UK she has provided courses for Sintef, Helsebygg Midt-Norge and staff courses for NTNU, HiST and Harstad Universities.

Mark HIll

Mark Hill, working as an English language teacher at Eastbourne School of English, has over 25 years of experience working at all levels on General English, Cambridge Exam Courses, Business English, Training Courses and Academic English. Mark has worked in the UK and Spain as a teacher and trainer on a wide range of courses and his clients include HiST, NTNU and Sintef.

T Robert Johanssen

Your host, born and bred in England is bilingual due to having a Norwegian father and English mother. T.Robert has more than 30 years of experience from international finance, working for Forretningsbanken/Fokus/Danskebank and Sparebank 1 SMN. In addition he has an active football career behind him with approximately 150 first team appearances for RBK. He was fortunate enough to represent the club for many years at Board level during the heydays of the Champions League campaign.

Travel arrangements & pricing

Travel

Departure: Trondheim/Værnes, Monday August 21st at 22:15 or via Oslo 16:20.

Departure: London/Gatwick Thursday August 24th at 18:05.

Price: NOK 14.500,- per person, exclusive airfare, including transportation to and from Eastbourne – Gatwick, 3 nights at Hydro Hotel and all meals.

Evenings & activities:

  • Monday night we meet in the bar at the Hydro Hotel.

  • Tuesday dinner and ”pub quiz” at The Pilot, (voted Eastbourne’s best pub)

  • Thursday dinner at ”The Harvester”, Sovereign Harbour.

It is also possible to prolong your stay in Eastbourne or travel on to London. We can assist in making alternative arrangements as far as possible.
